A refundable $200 security deposit is collected at pickup — by credit card hold or cash, your choice. It's released within 3 business days of return, provided the car comes back with a full tank and no new damage. Weekly rentals of 14+ days use a $300 deposit.

Drivers must be 21–75 years old with a valid US driver's license (or a foreign license with an international driving permit) held for at least one year. Drivers aged 21–24 pay a $25/day young-driver surcharge. Luxury category rentals require the driver to be at least 25.

Cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before your pickup time. Within 48 hours we charge 50% of the first day's rate; no-shows forfeit the first day's rate. Date changes are always free if the car is still available — just call the reservations desk.

Yes — liability coverage meeting California minimums is included in every rate at no extra cost. Collision Damage Waiver ($19/day), Theft Protection ($9/day), Zero Deductible ($28/day), and Passenger Accident Insurance ($7/day) are optional add-ons you can toggle on any vehicle page.

Every rental includes 150 miles per day (so a 5-day rental includes 750 miles, pooled across the trip). Excess miles are billed at $0.35/mile on return. A Santa Barbara–Big Sur round trip is roughly 240 miles — most trips stay well within the allowance.

Nevada, Arizona, and Oregon trips are allowed with 48 hours' advance notice so we can extend your insurance coverage. A $75 one-time out-of-state fee applies. No off-road use — our SUVs are for paved roads only.
